GHSA 2012 North Geogia Camp information
While the GHSA rules clinic is mandatory every year, NGAUA umpires should attend a GHSA softball umpire camp every two years. In an advance camp you will be evaluated while calling real high school games. Here is a short list of the camps closest to our area, a list of other clinics around the state check out GHSA web site
- To register or inquire about the camps(s), contact the individual "Camp Director" of each site.
- Camp Registration Fee: Non-refundable $55.00 for one-day camps or $75.00 for the Advanced Camp.
- Registration Deadline: (14) days prior to the start of the camp you wish to attend. ($25.00 Walk-up registration fee)
- Liability Waiver: Every participant will be required to sign a "liability waiver" prior to participating in the camp.

2012 Mandatory Meeting for High School Umpiring (May 23rd, 2012 7pm)
All umpires planning or thinking of umpiring GHSA (high school) softball must
attend a mandatory meeting on May 23rd 7pmat Lockheed
Elementary School (in the gym at the back of the school).
Critical information regarding the upcoming season will be covered as well as
information about school schedules, pay, tournaments, and post-season playoffs.
There are only two ways to get the REQUIRED RULES CLINIC.

What Are The Requirements to Umpire High School Ball
- Pay your GHSA dues
- Attend a GHSA clinic each year (free)
- Take the state GHSA Umpire Test and pass with 85% or higher -- each year
What Are The Requirements to be Eligible to Umpire Post Season High School Ball
- All the above requirements to umpire high school ball
- Attend a GHSA umpire camp at least once every two years (there is a fee -- see below but includes the required clinic for all umpires -- see info on these Umpire camps)
