All NGUA umpires... We need you this weekend! With high school tournaments, league games, and Special Olympics we are in the need of all NGAUA umpires to work where they can. Please get with Glenn/Bob to iron out your schedule for this weekend.

Sign Up For GHSA Umpire Camps
High School season is right around the corner. Sign up now for one of the GHSA Umpire Camps. Remember, you must attend a camp at least once every two years in order to be eligible for post season play. The camp will also include the requited clinic all umpires must attend each year in order to be eligible to work varsity ball. The cost for each school is $50 if registered 14 days in advance, $75 afterward. The schools/clinics for 2007 are as follows:

What Are The Requirements to Umpire High School Ball

  1. Pay your GHSA dues
  2. Attend a GHSA clinic each year (free)
  3. Take the state GHSA Umpire Test and pass with 85% or higher -- each year

What Are The Requirements to be Eligible to Umpire Post Season High School Ball

  1. All the above requirements to umpire high school ball
  2. Attend a GHSA umpire camp at least once every two years (there is a fee -- see below but includes the required clinic for all umpires -- see info on these Umpire camps)

NGAUA Makes High Honors in GHSA for 2006
NGAUA had a great 2006 season. 54 NGAUA umpires worked a total of 1136 GHSA games in 2006 -- including five varsity, two JV and two middle school tournaments.

A total of 18 NGAUA umpires worked a total of 40 Regional games. The following umpires, listed alphabetically, were honored with these GHS Sectional and State assignments:

        AA North and A North Sectional in Dalton, Ga.

        AA South Sectional in Savannah, Ga.

Uniforms...
You are NOT required to wear uniforms with the GHSA logo on the pant, shirt and/or hat. You may wear this uniform ONLY if both you and your partner have the entire uniform. Make sure you match your partner on the field!
